After graduation from Juneau-Douglas High School, Dr. Mesdag went to Oregon for both undergraduate and dental school, graduating from OHSU School of Dentistry in 2004. He then completed a one-year AEGD residency at the University of Oklahoma, which focused on restorative and implant dentistry. Dr. Mesdag practiced general dentistry from 2005-2010, after which he entered the endodontic program at the VA Hospital in Long Beach, CA. He is a graduate of the Kois Center, and has been awarded Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Mesdag will graduate from his endodontic speciality residency in June, 2012 and is therefore still a general dentist. As a general dentist, he is fully licensed and qualified to perform all endodontic procedures.
